Can it email me new jobs?
Yes, if you turn on email alerts in Settings → Routine. Job Hunter then looks for jobs at your chosen time even when it’s closed, and emails you the new ones. For that it keeps your roles, places, skill names and followed companies on its server (never your CV or Gmail). Turning alerts off deletes it.
Is it really free?
Yes. No card, no trial, no paid plan. The AI is built in and free too, with nothing to set up.
Why does Google say the app isn’t verified?
Only when you connect Gmail. Reading Gmail needs a permission Google only fully verifies after a paid security review, which a small free tool can’t afford. Choose Advanced, then Go to Job Hunter. Connecting Gmail is optional, and you can remove its access any time in your Google account.
What can it see in my Gmail?
It searches for application and job-alert emails and reads those. It can’t send, delete, label or change anything, and it never reads your other mail on purpose.
Will it ever email anyone for me?
No. It only reads your Gmail and never sends from it. Applying, replying and following up stay with you. (Job alerts, if you turn them on, come from Job Hunter to you.)
Where is my data, and how do I delete it?
In a hidden app folder in your own Google Drive. Settings has Export my data and Delete all my data; you can also remove it in Google Drive under Settings, then Manage apps.
Is my CV used to train AI?
Job Hunter keeps nothing on its side: the AI request passes straight through. The free AI services it uses (Groq, with Google Gemini as a backup) have their own terms, and free tiers may use what’s sent to improve their models.
Does it work on my phone?
Yes. Open the site on your phone and choose Add to Home screen to use it like an app.
